Objective
The world’s favorite airline, British Airways, the flag carrier of the United Kingdom, requires a modern and a user-friendly app. This app will be an interface to its inflight entertainment and will be accessed by the clients on board its many global flights. Films, television, music, games, web browsing, shopping, meal ordering, and inflight information are some of the multipurpose functionality that app offers.
Solution
This app was designed under the principles of the British Airways identity. It corresponds to the core values and the design elements which form a correct relationship yielding to a distinctive visual expression of the British Airways brand. The client is greeted by a humble welcome screen to initiate the app. Inclusivity is another attribute that’s found on the welcome screen which allows the selection of one’s preferred language. Visually pleasing four square buttons with icons and descriptive titles always appear at every present screen, to render cleanliness facility. Three circles may appear below the buttons as indicator of swiping capability for more buttons. A navigational guide with highlight of current location within the interface appears on the top left screen. One can tap on the guide to quickly return to any preceding screens. The flight path function appears on the top right of every screen. When pressed, a blue screen overlays on the present screen revealing information along with icons such as local times, flight deck data, and the option to select an interactive map to view the plane’s current global location.
